Note: While this guide acts as a calculator, it should be treated like an estimator. The actual experience needed may be off by 1 or 2 levels, due to unknown variables in the game. This includes level difference penalties and monster defense.
The guide gives estimated times for what it takes to get from one level to the next. These are not level requirements, but rather an estimation based on the formula: (Estimated Experience Required – Estimated Experience Available) / 2
To use this guide, follow these instructions: Enter your starting stats in the green boxes. Read the results in the purple boxes. Note: These numbers are rounded down. All of this is assuming you do everything faster than the estimated time (No lag, no distractions, you always hit first, etc).

What is Guild Wars 2?
Guild Wars 2 is a buy-to-play MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game) set in the fantasy world of Tyria. Guild Wars 2 went live on August 25, 2012, after 4 years of development and closed beta testing.
Since its launch, ArenaNet has introduced many updates and expansion packs including The Lost Shores, Secret of the Legendary Weapons, Sky Pirates of Tyria, Bazaar of the Four Winds, and Clockwork Chaos.
Leveling up your character
Guild Wars 2 is just like leveling up most other MMOs. You kill monsters and complete quests in order to level up. There are a few differences:
There are no class trainers in Guild Wars 2, so you can mix and match skills from any profession when playing at lower levels (You must unlock the ability to use each skill on your skill bar for each profession by leveling the associated primary attribute).
Farming for gold and leveling faster with trade-ins
The best way to speed up your leveling is to farm for gold. There are several ways to do this, but the most efficient is farming the pirates that spawn at the docks in Lion’s Arch during The Secret of Southsun quest chain (available May 14, 2013). This requires you to have done the story quests in South san up through the Kiel portion.
If you are not interested in spending money on the game, just do all of your primary story quests. You can earn a total of 15 levels by completing these quests alone, which will save you many hours over farming gold. This guide assumes that you have completed all of the story quests up to level 80.
General tips on playing the game, including how to find a guild or friends in-game
There are several things that can give you an edge in leveling up: Education and gear. This means if you do not have a high school diploma, it is going to take you longer than someone who does.
The best profession for leveling up quickly is an Elementalist with the water attunement and a shield drop party build (instructions on how to do that here). The second best profession for leveling up
